The space within your home is a mirror of energy that reflects your relationship with it. It requires special care and cleansing in order to remain balanced and filled with positive energy. It is recommended to cleanse your space at least once a week, as well as after having guests (whether welcome or unwelcome), arguments, or any form of household negativity.

How Can You Easily Cleanse Your Home?

Start with the simplest method, one we were taught from childhood — wet cleaning. Believe it or not, even dust can have a negative effect, as it distracts your focus and attention. After cleaning, you can move on to smoke cleansing the space (be sure to open the windows so the smoke can circulate evenly throughout the home and remain safe for you).

The best choice is a bundle of mugwort, white sage, or lavender. Walk through your home clockwise with the lit herbs, paying special attention to the corners of each room, as they are believed to hold the greatest accumulation of stagnant energy. During the process, you may say:

“I cleanse this space of all accumulated negativity and energetic influences. Here and now, I release all destructive programs, attachments, and patterns from my life.”

The cleansing process can also be performed with candles (especially those containing St. John’s wort or mugwort). They are believed not only to disperse negativity but also to create energetic protection.

If your home has not been energetically cleansed for a long time, or if there has recently been conflict, arguments, or a disruption of the spiritual balance of the space, fill small bowls with salt (regular, black, or Thursday salt). Place them in the corners of the rooms and leave them overnight. Dispose of the salt the following morning.

Energetic ventilation is a practice that can be used almost daily to clear stagnant energy. Open the windows and imagine fresh air carrying away negative emotions, stress, and anxiety. You may say:

“I release everything that does not belong to me and fill this space with harmony.”

Even the pleasant aroma of essential oils can help neutralize heavy energy and create a sense of comfort within the home. Simply add a few drops of oil (rose, tea tree, or lemongrass) to water and lightly mist it into the air.

If none of the above methods resonate with you, try using a singing bowl to clear household negativity and other unwanted energies. The sound vibrations can create a powerful atmosphere and leave a positive impression on both you and your home.

The home has been cleansed—now it is time to cleanse its owner. After completing all rituals, take a shower while imagining the water washing away any remaining foreign energy. Mentally repeat:

“The element of Water washes away all that is unnecessary. As the water flows, so too does all negativity leave.”

May your space be cleansed and filled with light!
