Silver magic rings are protective pieces worn on the finger all the time, in direct contact with the skin. Silver behaves calmly against the skin and rarely causes irritation even with round-the-clock wear, which sets it apart from other metals used for protective jewelry. A ring stays on the hand day and night, so the metal beneath the symbol matters here no less than the symbol itself.

A personal ring has long been tied to its owner more closely than any other piece of jewelry. A silver signet ring served as a person's seal and personal mark, and the same metal on the finger was seen as a charm that always stays with its bearer. This role of personal protection settled on the silver ring and remains today.

Why silver suits a protective ring

A ring differs from a pendant or a bracelet in that it almost never leaves the skin. It sits snugly on the finger, warms from the body and touches the hand with every movement. For a charm worn this close and this long, the metal has to be gentle on the skin. Silver meets this condition: it rarely causes irritation or the green marks that cheap alloys leave, and even people who find other metals uncomfortable can wear it.

Constant contact with the skin matters for a charm for another reason too. Practitioners connect the strength of a protective ring to the fact that it stays on the wearer's body at all times and works without a break. Silver is doubly convenient here — you can wear it for weeks without taking it off, it does not weigh the finger down and does not get in the way of daily life. A silver protective ring stays with a person at work and in sleep, remaining part of their protection.

Silver also has its own meaning tied to protection, noted across many traditions. This metal has long been associated with guarding the one who wears it, and a silver ring is put on as a personal shield. On the finger such a charm keeps protection with the owner at all times, not only in the hours when it is remembered. That is why silver protective rings remain one of the most natural forms of wearable protection.

Forms of silver protective rings

Silver is used for several types of protective rings, and they differ in how the protection is built into the ring. The simplest form is a plain ring with no design, where the metal itself and the owner's intent do the work. Such a ring stands out in no way on the hand, it is easy to wear every day and to combine with other jewelry, and its power is set by the one who puts it on.

More often people choose rings engraved with symbols or runes. Their protection is tied to a specific sign: a rune, a protective knot, a solar or lunar symbol, a short formula. The engraving is placed on the outer side of the ring or hidden inside, closer to the skin, and the meaning of the sign is chosen for the task — protection, luck, love, the road. Such a ring already carries a set meaning, and it is best chosen above all by what the symbol means.

Rings with a stone stand apart. The insert adds the properties of a mineral to the silver, and the charm gains a double support of metal and stone. Black onyx and obsidian strengthen the protective side of the ring, rock crystal clears and brightens, garnet and carnelian work on warmth and energy. The silver setting holds the stone right against the skin and ties it to the owner as tightly as a plain ring.

Ring size and care for silver

A ring has to be fitted more precisely than any other piece of jewelry. Too loose, it slips off the finger; too tight, it gets in the way and pinches when the finger swells. Size is determined by the finger's circumference: wrap a strip of paper around the base of the finger, mark the length and divide it by the needed number, or measure a ring that already fits well. It is better to measure the finger in the evening, when it is a little fuller, and to keep in mind that the size differs from hand to hand.

Silver on the finger needs more care than a pendant on a chain. Hands are always busy — water, soap, household chemicals, cream — and all of it settles on the ring and speeds up the tarnishing of silver. The ring is worth taking off before cleaning, washing dishes, a bath or a pool, whereas an amulet on the chest hardly meets any of that. Taken off in time, a ring keeps its look longer and needs less cleaning.

Silver tarnishing over time is an ordinary property of the metal. It is not a sign of a fake or poor quality, and there is no need to be alarmed by it. A thin dark film is removed with a soft cloth or a special silver wipe, and relief engraving is cleaned carefully, without clogging the lines. Between wears, the ring is best kept dry, in a separate pouch or box, away from moisture and other metals. With this kind of care a silver ring lasts for years and stays with the owner as a working charm.

Metal you can verify

With a silver ring the authenticity of the material is not obvious at once, and here it matters whom you buy it from. A silver-plated alloy looks like silver on the outside but behaves differently: it wears off faster, tarnishes in patches and more often irritates the skin. At Artifacts of the Vedun we keep only genuine silver, and before a purchase you can check this with a consultant, because all our consultants are practitioners themselves and answer to the point, not from a script.

  • Hallmark and stamp. Our silver goes through assay testing and carries a mark of authenticity — a guarantee that before you is a genuine metal, not a coating over an alloy.

  • Originals only. On sale are quality original pieces, without replicas or silver-plated imitations.

  • Loyalty program. A cumulative discount from 1 to 10% of the purchase total applies, promo codes come in the newsletter, and on the shop's birthday we give a separate discount.

  • Dispatch on the order day. A ring is processed and shipped the same day, delivery goes by Nova Poshta and Ukrposhta across Ukraine and abroad.

  • Showroom in Kyiv. A ring can be tried on and compared in person at our shop on Besarabska Square 2, Metrograd Mall, entrance from Khreshchatyk.

Silver magic rings at Artifacts of the Vedun are chosen by symbol and by hand, and the material in all of them is one — verified silver with a hallmark. The order is placed right on the site, and the current price is shown on each item's page. If you are unsure about the size or the meaning of a symbol, write to us before ordering, and a practitioner consultant will help you choose.

Answering common doubts about silver rings

How do I find my ring size?

Measure the finger at its base: wrap a strip of paper around it, mark the length and divide it by 3.14 to get the diameter, or measure a ring that already fits comfortably. It is better to measure in the evening, when the finger is a little fuller. If you are between two sizes, take the larger one, because a tight ring is hard to wear.

The silver ring has darkened — is it defective?

No, silver tarnishing over time is normal, especially on a ring that is constantly in contact with skin, water and cosmetics. The dark film comes off with a soft cloth or a silver wipe and says nothing about poor quality of the metal. To make the ring tarnish more slowly, take it off before cleaning and water activities and store it in a dry place.

Is a silver protective ring suitable for sensitive skin?

Usually yes. Silver is among the metals that rarely cause irritation, and it is worn even by those who cannot wear cheap alloys. If the skin is very sensitive, choose a plain ring without soldered parts and make sure moisture does not linger under it.

Can I return a ring?

Silver rings are a silver product. Under the law, these goods aren't subject to return within fourteen days — exchange is only possible in case of a factory defect or other flaw. You can check the ring right when you receive your order.

How do I order and when is it shipped?

You can place an order on the site or through a consultant; payment is by card online, by bank details or by cash on delivery with a 150 UAH prepayment. The order is processed and shipped the same day by Nova Poshta or Ukrposhta, across Ukraine and abroad. Courier delivery is available in Kyiv and the suburbs, and you can also pick the ring up yourself at the showroom on Besarabska Square.
