Chakras are the energy centers of our body, located along the spine.

Traditionally, seven main chakras are considered, each responsible for different areas of our life and directly influencing their functioning. Each energy center has its own vibration, level of balance, and correspondence to physical and emotional well-being.

Muladhara (Root Chakra) — the first of the seven main energy centers of the human body. It is located at the lowest point, at the base of the spine in the pelvic plexus. Through it, Earth energy enters the body and moves upward.

Element: Earth — symbol of material reality and foundation.
Planets: Saturn, Uranus.
Symbol: lotus.
Bija mantra: LAM — aligns the root energy center through sound vibration.
Number of petals: 4 — they are activated and colored red when energy flows.

When the root chakra functions well, a person feels confidence, stability, and peace. Such a person is active, resilient, and proactive. They adapt quickly to change and realize themselves in key areas of life: physical development, family, career, and creativity.

Svadhisthana (Sacral Chakra) — the energy center that governs our sensual side and everything related to creativity, sexuality, and intimate life. It is located approximately 2–3 cm below the navel, in the lower abdomen.

Element: Water.
Planets: Jupiter, Neptune.
Symbol: a lotus flower with six red-orange petals and a silvery-white crescent moon in the center. The petals reflect vrttis (states or illusions of consciousness). The symbol as a whole represents the understanding of emotions, pleasure, and passion.
Bija mantra: VAM.

When this chakra is balanced, we enjoy life, open up to new opportunities and creative impulses, and increase our productivity.

Manipura (Solar Plexus Chakra) — as the name suggests, this energy center is located in the area of the solar plexus and is responsible for willpower, inner strength, and human energy.

Element: Fire.
Planet: Mars.
Bija mantra: RAM.
Symbol: a lotus flower with a rounded light-yellow center surrounded by ten petals. The petals symbolize ten negative thoughts that appear when Manipura is imbalanced: sadness, spiritual ignorance, longing, stupidity, deception (self-deception), jealousy, aversion, betrayal, shame, and fear.

When this chakra is developed, a person feels financial stability and well-being, understands their desires, and is ready to realize them in real life.

Anahata (Heart Chakra) — an energy center that governs love. It is located in the heart area and is responsible not only for love toward others but also for self-love. It plays a key role in shaping a person’s soul and their relationship with the surrounding world.

Element: Air.
Planet: Venus.
Bija mantra: HAM.
Symbol: a circle with twelve lotus petals, each connected to a specific energy channel and corresponding organ: gallbladder, lungs, liver, heart, pancreas, etc.

People with a balanced Anahata can find joy even in small things. They radiate happiness and do not burden their hearts with negativity.

Vishuddha (Throat Chakra) — the chakra responsible for overall health, the ability to express feelings, and creative self-realization.

Element: Ether.
Planet: Mercury.
Bija mantra: HAM.

Everyone has a different level of development of Vishuddha. People with a developed chakra have a gift of speech, seek truth, and express themselves through creativity and oratory skills.

Ajna (Third Eye Chakra) — an energy center located in the middle of the forehead, halfway between the hairline and the eyebrows. This chakra allows one to be aware, spiritual, and to perceive more than ordinary physical sight.

Element: Ether.
Planet: Moon.
Bija mantra: OM.
Symbol: a blue circle with two large lotus petals, each bearing a bija: “Ksham” (yin energy associated with the Ida nadi) and “Ham” (yang energy associated with the Pingala nadi).

A person who develops Ajna gains the gift of clairvoyance, establishes a connection with their Higher Self and the Universe.

Sahasrara (Crown Chakra) — the highest energy center of a human being, directly connected with all other channels. It is linked to divine and cosmic energies. Location: the crown of the head.

Element: Ether.
Planet: Sun.
Bija mantra: AUM.
Symbol: a thousand-petaled lotus. In the central circle of the Sahasrara symbol are representations of the Sun and Moon. Inside this lotus, there is also the so-called “bindu” point, considered a symbol of all-seeing, all-encompassing emptiness.

When Sahasrara is developed, a person has strong intuition, extrasensory abilities, and a stable psycho-emotional state.

Remember: balance is necessary in all areas of life. If even one chakra is disrupted, energy cannot be evenly distributed throughout the body, which may negatively affect physical and mental health. Therefore, it is important to work with the chakras and strive to keep them in balance at all times. Yoga and meditative practices can help with this.
