Aleister Crowley was an occultist, magician, writer, poet, mountaineer, and founder of several magical orders. His legacy, formed in the first half of the 20th century, remains controversial yet undeniably influential, with ideas that were considered radical and provocative in his time.
Even today, his figure is surrounded by stereotypes and myths that often have little connection to his actual writings and beliefs.
The Thoth Tarot deck, created by Crowley, was first published in 1944 and has since become a classic in the study of Tarot. It is widely used by those who seek not only divinatory practice but also a deeper understanding of Tarot as a symbolic and philosophical system.
In The Book of Thoth, Crowley explains in detail the ideas behind each card, the symbolism of the imagery, and the philosophical principles underlying the Tarot system. Beyond being a guide to the deck, the book is also considered one of the most comprehensive works on Western esoteric tradition.
This edition also includes a Ukrainian translation of The Book of the Law, a foundational text of Thelema—the philosophical system developed by Crowley that underpins his worldview and is closely connected to the Thoth Tarot.
