The Druid Craft Tarot was created by Philip and Stephanie Carr-Gomm in collaboration with artist Will Worthington, all of whom are active members of a Druid community founded in the United Kingdom. This deck invites us on a journey to explore traditional Tarot within the context of ancient Druidic wisdom.
It leads us into deep green forests where we can commune with trees and flowers, absorbing the experience, beauty, and power of nature itself. The artwork depicts scenes of color and form that seem to glow and come alive. While the imagery generally follows traditional Tarot structure, it carries a deeper meaning and expanded symbolism.
Some cards have been renamed, yet the transition feels natural, as if walking forest paths. One can almost sense the breath and whisper of the trees within the cards. The symbolism is rich and reveals its wisdom gradually through study and reading.
The cards are framed as if set within rough, uncut stone, with titles displayed in English Gothic script. The Major Arcana use Roman numerals, while the Minor Arcana are numbered in words. The setting evokes a time spanning from early Celtic Druids through the early medieval period, when legends of King Arthur emerged.
The card backs are more restrained compared to the vivid imagery of the fronts: a black background with a yellow-green frame and delicate vegetal ornamentation.
The accompanying guidebook expands on the deck’s meanings and universal insights, including illustrated Minor Arcana and detailed explanations. It also includes diagrams showing relationships between all 78 cards, seasonal Druid festivals, and connections between the cards. As practicing Druids, the authors bring authentic insight into their tradition, making the material both informative and inspiring.
