The Golden Universal Tarot is a reissue of the Universal Tarot by Roberto De Angelis—a reimagined and more dynamic version of the Rider–Waite tradition. This edition features 78 cards with selected symbols and imagery enhanced with elegant gold foil accents.
Italian master illustrator Roberto De Angelis, inspired by the iconography of A. E. Waite’s work, successfully reinterprets Pamela Colman Smith’s Tarot in a modern style while preserving its symbolic clarity. Many interpretations of the Rider–Waite Tarot also apply to the Universal Tarot, though notable differences remain.
De Angelis’s softer and more dynamic style highlights key symbolic nuances while maintaining a refined, pre-Raphaelite-inspired aesthetic. In exchange for a more contemporary and realistic visual approach, the deck achieves a harmony with modern sensibilities. In Tarot reading, simple definitions are not enough—we must attune ourselves to the imagery to awaken intuition during the reading process.
